Pre-trip flight checks
« on: October 08, 2015, 09:10:40 PM »
Ok.. coming from a world of aircooled vintage VW's, our basic flight check is to see if the oil is topped off and that's about it. 3K mile valve adjustments are the norm, but otherwise, unless something is obviously wrong, drive the car, albeit with a spare genny belt and perhaps a set of points. With an UV, I imagine there is a wide range of things to check, not only with the engine, but chassis and suspension. So.. what is the norm, if there is one, for a pre-flight for an Ultravan? I've read some folks check and pack the wheel bearings before some treks, what else?
